She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1999 with a degree in Clinical Social Work and practiced psychotherapy in a community mental health center, working with families, adolescents in the juvenile justice system, and victims of domestic violence from 1999 to 2002. She also supervised a family therapy program and masters level candidates for the same organization from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, Ms. Bankston began a part time psychotherapy practice and continued working with the community mental health center as a contract therapist. Currently, she maintains a private psycho-therapy practice in Winter Park, Florida. During Ms. Bankston’s licensure process, she was supervised by Dr. James F Masterson and Carol Keeler, LCSW, graduate of the former Masterson Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, now The International Masterson Institute for the Study and Treatment of the Personality Disorders (IMI), whereupon she began attending a study group focused on psychoanalytic theory, in Manhattan, New York, with the clinical director of the institute, Dr. Judith Pearson. Ms. Bankston attended The IMI completing her post – graduate degree in 2010, and became a faculty member of the institute where she currently teaches and lectures around the world for various institutes and mental health professionals.[/pextestim]
